Where it All Started

It was the summer after finishing 2nd year of university that Chad Fischl (co-founder of SHUTOUT) and Dan Robinson (co-founder of SHUTOUT) separately realized working for someone else was just not for them.  Chad Fischl had a job lined up at a local lumber mill and was enjoying an active lifestyle with lots of biking, jogging and golfing. That same summer Dan Robinson was moving back to his home town to work as a bank teller, still considering  if someday the banking world might be a good place to start a career. Dan was playing competitive lacrosse, with his brother Joel, and fitting in at least nine holes of golf most days.

Over the next few years, the two were going about their lives as university students and often thinking about potential businesses to start once university was finished; then in their final year of classes before graduating the two met up.  This is where Chad and Dan ended up working on a group project together with 2 common friends and one common goal, “to get the smell and dangerous bacteria out of sports gear and new high-tech fabrics, without using dangerous chemicals that only partially work very short-term.” It was this group of four who came together and created the mold for what would become SHUTOUT® Solutions Inc. The basic idea was born in this university class and when the class came to an end Dan and Chad decided to work at building the solution into a full-time business.

SHUTOUT® products (i.e Athletic Spray, Body Wash, and Detergent) hit store shelves in May of 2008 after working closely with world class scientists, chemists, doctors and toxicologists from around the world. Since then SHUTOUT has become the premier brand of Athletic Cleaning Solutions in Canada. The friends and families of the two founders got involved right from the onset offering humble investment dollars to get started and even hitting the road to help get the product off the ground. SHUTOUT’s success is rooted in hard work and a commitment to using the healthiest ingredients that work more effectively than anything on the market. Society is no longer willing to put up with chemical products that produce questionable results, only masking odors with sticky chemical fragrances which create health problems for active people. In response to this, SHUTOUT® Solutions introduces a natural alternative that revolutionize the way athletes clean their bodies and their gear.
